The Tenth Key to Lasting Prosperity:
"Examine Your Motive"
Dear Wealth Creator,
"Why do you want to be rich?"
Sounds like a silly question, doesn't it - but unless you know your true and sincere reasons for wanting to be wealthy, money will not flow towards you - and stay with you.
It's a bizarre fact of life that when lottery winners receive millions in prize money, they will more often than not be poor again within a year or two.
Why? Because they were never ready for wealth. True wealth is achieved when you are mentally able to deal with large sums of cash.
Most people want to be rich because of all the things they can buy - but this is a sure fire way to spend money quickly and receive no real benefit in return. Truly wealthy people think about what they can do with their money that will lead to maximum benefit for themselves - and everyone else.
This is the real key: to have a significant reason to be rich. One that empowers you as individual to invest in others, whether that be as a shareholder of a company, a financier of new business or as a benefactor to a charity.
With riches comes responsibility. And looking after money - and trusting its power - is not for the faint-hearted. In much the same way as you wouldn't keep giving cash handouts to a friend or family member that never paid you back, having a lot of money requires the same sense of caution, expertise and intelligence.
Poor people regard money as dirty but necessary. Rich people regard it as they would a child - to be nurtured and treated with respect.
Having more money does not make your life any easier. It may make you more comfortable but it requires extra effort and ingenuity to control.
So, sometime today, think about WHY you want to be rich. Simply for the toys? For the power? Respect? These are not good reasons.
You need to think about what you will do with it. What benefit will you use it for and how you will manage it.
When you do that, you will be truly ready to receive it - and, dependent on your efforts, the Universe will do its utmost to give it to you.
